Trump Calls For Attorney General Barr To Investigate Hillary Clinton

During an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity on Monday night, President Donald Trump went after failed 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, appearing to go so far as to call for Attorney General William Barr to investigate her ties to Ukraine as well as the infamous Christopher Steele dossier.
Fox News reported that during the interview, Trump opened up about the potential ties between Clinton, Ukraine, and the dossier that he’s been “hearing about.”

“You hear about Ukraine, and you’ve been hearing about it. I heard Clinton was involved,” Trump said. “I heard they got somebody who wrote the fake dossier was out of Ukraine. All of the things that happened. And, I assume that the attorney general — I would like the attorney general to find out what’s going on. Because, you know what? We are investigating corruption.”

This comes hours after Trump waded into the feud between Clinton and current Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard during a cabinet meeting. Last week, Clinton accused Gabbard of being a Russian asset in the 2020 election, causing the Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii to defend herself on Twitter by blasting the former Secretary of State. Trump defended Gabbard, saying that the country is finally seeing just how “crazy” Clinton really is.

“She’s accusing everyone of being a Russian agent. These people are sick. There’s something wrong with them,” Trump said at the White House meeting, according to the New York Post. He added that Clinton’s comments would actually help Gabbard’s chances in the election.

“They’re trying to make other people into Russian agents, Russian assets,” Trump said.

Clinton had claimed on Friday that Russia was “grooming” a Democrat running in the presidential primary to run as a third-party candidate and look out for Moscow’s interest. Though she didn’t mention Gabbard by name, it was clear that she was talking about the Hawaiian congresswoman.

“I’m not making any predictions, but I think they’ve got their eye on somebody who is currently in the Democratic primary and are grooming her to be the third-party candidate. She’s the favorite of the Russians,” Clinton said.

Gabbard has been defending herself on Twitter in the days since then.

“If you’re sick of the new McCarthyism and warmongering by Hillary and her cohorts, then join our campaign. We need your support. Democrat, Republican, Independent — it doesn’t matter,” she tweeted on Monday in a fundraising push. “We need to unite to usher in a govt which is of, by, and for the people!”
