6. After serving deligently as president of NYC, this gained him another national appointment as Special Adviser to the PDP National Chairman  Alh (Dr) Bamanga Tukur on Youth Affairs 2012- 2013.

7. Elected National Youth council of nigeria President (National) NYCN August 23th 2013 to 2016. This showcase & made him prominent at the national levels where he never failed fighting for the common good & rights of the youths across the length & breadth of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

8. After gathering vast knowledge in politics, Dr. Yakubu shendam moved futher to register his own political party call New Generation party (N.G.P) in June 7th 2017. This gives leverage to young nigerians who do not have millions to pick forms as its done in other parties. Dr. Shendam having compassion for the youths & average Nigerian set up this party & instill an enabling ground for all to contest & vie for positions both at the national & local levels. Dr. Shendam is presently the National chairman of N.G.P & an aspirant of the Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency 2019.
